This Privacy Policy describes how WakeMate ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

WakeMate collects the following information to provide its core features. This data is used solely to operate the app and is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

• Email address: Used to create and authenticate your account.
• Display name: Shown to your friends within the app.
• User ID: Used internally to link your alarms and friendships.
• Device token: Required to deliver alarm notifications to your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
• Deliver alarms set by your friends to your device, and vice versa.
• Sync alarm changes in real time across connected devices.
• Provide customer support when you contact us.

4. Third-Party Services

WakeMate uses the following services to operate:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, real-time database, cloud messaging, and crash reporting. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
• Apple App Store: Subscription and payment processing. Apple's privacy policy applies to all in-app purchases.

5. Push Notifications

Alarm delivery depends on push notifications. You will be prompted to grant notification permission when you first set up the app. You can manage this permission at any time in iOS Settings.

6. Camera Access

Camera access is used only to scan QR codes when adding friends. No photos are taken or stored.

7. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time, which will remove your profile, alarms, and friendships from our servers.

8. Children's Privacy

WakeMate is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
